A Note from the Author.....

As I wrote Sidonie Adair’s story her character began to emerge and move ever so slowly out of my control. I came to realize she was more than a little ahead of her time and place, New York, 100 years ago. She was looking around and feeling less and less comfortable with the setting I’d written her into and the limited roles she could play in that society.  And so she rebelled against the times and her author. She began making choices I knew would be disastrous. Of course, she never gave a thought to the notion of consequences but she faced them one by one, and she was strong and, I guess you’d say brave, even when a man with a gun took over the story and stopped us both in our tracks.
